Dan Deluxe asked:

I need to replace chain, gears, crank, tyres etc on my Specialized Hard Rock and instead of taking it it to a shop to get fixed i want to buy the parts and learn to do it myself to save money. I dont know how much different parts should be so i want to know somewhere with reliably good prices so that i dont have to mess about comparing different sites. I also need all necessary tools etc

I haven’t used any others, but after browsing their sites, Chain Reaction is who I’d stick with. I live in the US but have ordered from them several times. Impeccable service and selection for all kinds of riders….two thumbs up from me. :o )

A good local bike shop will be worth it’s weight in gold if you’re just starting out doing repairs. They’ll give you advice on what you need that they’ve learnt from hard experience and may well help you avoid buying the wrong thing.

Having said that, is a great choice. They have a massive range of components at good prices, it’s a one stop shop. I have a Rockhopper which is the same as yours but with front suspension and they’ve always served me well.

Chainreaction for me too. I wouldn’t buy from anywhere else anymore. If they have it in stock then it will come the next day. I have a couple of local shops, but getting spares is hard work with them, they will say they can get it in next week, and then one month later you are still waiting.
