dokomo asked:

Should I also be carrying another set? in my car? why…? I occasionally use tools to tighten or unscrew nuts and bolts around my house, for my riding mower, and chain saw, I do not think I hardly used tool for my car except rarely remember to removed a battery once in my 25 years owning a car.

A small, inexpensive socket wrench set and a set of combination wrenches should take care of you nicely. A place like Harbor Freight offers decent quality tools at a low cost.

I carry a set of locking pliers in my car. They come handy for tightening or loosening, bending and pulling. A great single tool for unexpected tasks.

For home I recommend a small and large pair of channel lock pliers. That can get you through almost every wrench type task you will have.

Personally, I have many many more wrenches, but if I had to pick the bare minimum to be stranded on a desert island (or better a dessert island – yum) these are the wrenches I’d want.
