Yes and then the chain will require two master links in order to add to the length.

Yes, you don’t even need a special tool just grind the heads off the rivets very lightly, then use a chisel and hammer the link plate off.

You can remove a link and replace it with a master link.

They have tools to drive link pins in and out. A bike shop can help you out.

Yes you can,its called a chain breaker tool i have one at home
in my tool box .It presses out the pin in the chain which joins
the links together.

Yes, but be aware that if you need to remove links, that means the chain is pretty worn and could fail under even moderate stress. Better just change it. Cheaper in the long run.
