Is it difficult to replace a chain on a chainsaw?

My chainsaw is dull (the chain blade) -is this something I have to take into a shop to have done-I have some basic tools-it is a 18 inch craftsaman.

    usually you just back off the tensioner screw, remove 2 nuts on the side cover to access the chain. reverse to install

    saw tool comes with the saw if not then u need a socket set to use on the nuts……flat ***** driver and make sure u put the chain on in the correct direction…..go to UTUBE.com and u can see a video on it….

    Piece of cake. Just remove old blade and install new one in reverse order..

    go to the store and get a chain saw file to sharpen the chain. they are round and come in diff. diameters to match the notches on your chain.. gogle “chainsaw files”

    Purchase a new chain for the model saw you have (there is a difference in the same sizes). You should see two nuts on the cover where the chain enters the body of the saw. Remove these and the whole bar can be taken off. Make sure you install the chain in the same direction as the old one. Simple fix.
