I’m rebuilding my bike and it’s very old and I think the chain is too old and dirty for any of the pins to come out, Help?

I would recomend a hacksaw. If the pins won’t come out, I doubt you will use it again.

    Use a hacksaw.

Hackssaw or a good pair of bolt cutters . Ive seen some guys take a quality pair of needle nose and seperate the links with them.

It is unlikely that you would not be able to remove the chain with a chain tool, even if it is rusted. The pins on the chains of old bikes are much easier to push out than the ones on newer bikes. Dirt won’t have any effect on how hard it is to break the chain.

My chain for my bmx is the opposite. The jumps i go on end up to high for my chains so when i land the chains break.
    There are 2 suggestions.
    1. you use a hacksaw and break the middle of the chain and try pulling the chain away from the bike.
    2. you can do as i did and go of 10 feet ramps and break my chains while flat lading and putting my foot on the chains not the pegs or pedals =D.
It’s very unlikely to not be able to break chains.
    Hope i helped!
