varun c asked:

I have done industrial engineering as my under graduation. Currently working as software analyst in the Retail/supply chain domain. I have plans to do an MBA in operations.
Will SAP help me in the future. I understand that SAP is a useful ERP tool (related to operations). How should i go about getting knowledge in SAP. Please advise.

  • SAP Savvy says:

SAP is the world’s leading provider of business software – from distinct solutions addressing the needs of small and midsized businesses to enterprise scale suite applications for global organizations.

Going for certification in an SAP module is recommended only if you intend implementing SAP solutions as a career.
In your chosen domain you are quite likely to encounter SAP sooner or later. For example you might be employed by a company that uses SAP and become an end user of SAP. For this purpose it is not all that necessary that you do an expensive course in SAP. Your qualifications and expertise in business functions is what ultimately drives your career. Most employers train people to use their systems soon after being recruited. However reading up a bit on SAP would be an advantage. For our purpose I would highly recommend a book called ‘SAP in 24 hours’.
