What is the cheapest fence to install to divide my backyard?
We want a DIY fencing project- We need to install about 25 feet of some kind of fence to divide our backyard as we are planting some grass for our kids and our dog digs everything up. He is an American Staffordshire Terrier (similar to a pit bull) so it has to be strong/tall enough for him but otherwise nothing fancy. If the answer is chain link, can you rent the tools that you need to install?

In my opinion, a wood fence is easier to put up. Unless you have worked with chain link before, it can be daunting. Pick something that is within your comfort/skill zone.
Go to your local Home Depot or Lowe’s and talk with the associates. Generally they will give you good advice. Also, check web sites like DIY.com. The info can be of great help in making your decision.
Think about some tools that you can use in multipurpose.
I priced different types of fencing about one year ago. Cedar 4×4 posts, horse fence stapled to the cedar, cedar 2x4s across the top and bottom. It was the least expensive by far and I have received many complements on it. I bought everything at Home Depot and paid some installers I know to put it in although you could probably do it easily yourself.
