bbanync asked:

In a chain if i activated Seven Tools Of The Bandit, Dark Bribe, Solemn Judgment, Magic Jammer. Or Any Spell Card / Trap Card That Has A Cost Before The True Effect Activating.

If your opponent Negated it would you have to pay the first cost like for Seven Tools Of The Bandit would you still pay the 1000LP (If Opponent Negated with Seven Tools Of The Bandet, Dark Bribe etc….
For Dark Bribe Would Your Opponent Still draw a card.
For Lightning Vortex If It was chained with Magic Jammer would you still have to discard for Lightning Vortex.

I hope you get the point by this far into the examples

Ok, dude, so this is how it works,

even though the activation is negated, you still have to pay for the cost to even activate the card’s effect in the first place. The cost cannot be avoided even if your card’s effect is negated after you actives your card.

so pay the cost, the effect is activated, and then its negated.
it doesn’t matter if your card’s effect goes though, you pay the cast first, and it cannot be avoided either way.

If you play it you gotta pay it! :)

  • RootBeerMaster says:

you have to pay the cost even if the card gets negated, because your are paying to activate it. so even though it’s negated you still actives the card. so you pay the cost.

  • Robert O says:

Everybody else is right. You still have to pay the cost of the card in order to activate it in the first place. After you pay the cost, then you opponent has the chance to negate it. The cost of a card always happens first.

The only thing I have to add that nobody else seemed to mention was that with Dark Bribe. You opponent doesn’t draw a card because it is part of the effect, not the cost of the card.

Another card I thought I should mention is Crush Card. It is the same thing. You must tribute a Dark monster, then your opponent gets the chance to negate it. So if you opponent uses Solemn Judgment, then you will lose the monster and not get the effect of Crush Card.
